OUR PROGRAMME

We offer two options for taking part in the Healthier You NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme.

1. You can join our coach-led group programme alongside others in your local area who are also reducing their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

2. We offer an online app alternative, so you can complete the programme remotely with digital support from your local health coach.

This is a free, 9-month programme designed to significantly reduce your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and improve your health.

Lucy Gibson

Derbyshire GP Liaison Officer

Lucy is a registered Associate Nutritionist and has worked in Diabetes prevention since 2019. Her role as Compliance and GP Liaison Officer involves overseeing Locality Coaches in both Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire alongside liaising with the local Health Communities including Primary Care and local community groups.

HELENA DREWITT
Coach

Helena is a qualified Nutritionist, and has a degree in Nutrition and a Masters Degree in Sports Nutrition. She is also a Personal Trainer, has a diploma in GP referral and works as a Fitness instructor.  Helena has been helping people to improve their health both in and out of the gym for over four years.

AYESHA KHAN
Coach

Ayesha has a degree in BSc Psychology and is currently completing her MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology. For the past 3 years Ayesha has worked in health promotion alongside her studies with a focus on supporting physical activity within different communities.

Coach

Rob is qualified in Sports and Exercise science with a background in Football coaching. He is also a qualified personal trainer and has over a decade’s experience of coaching and educating with elite athletes on training and sporting performances. Rob also has previous experience of working within the community on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

HARVIN JOHAL
Coach

Harvin is a qualified Personal Trainer with a vast amount of experience in a exercise & rehabilitational settings. Harvin graduated with Bachelor of Science in Sport & Exercise Science at Leeds Beckett University in 2017.  He has dedicated his time to building the local area’s awareness on the importance of physical activity while leading a healthier lifestyle and hopes he can continue to have positive impact on his local area.

NATALIE WHITAKER
Coach

Natalie holds a BA (Hons) in Business and an Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry qualification where she studied anatomy, physiology, disease processes, treatments & medications.  She has also studied extensively in holistic health and holds Diplomas & Practitioner qualifications.  She has 9 years’ experience of working alongside NHS hospitals (Cardiology, Theatres and Intensive Care) in training & therapeutic product roles.  She has spent 13 years as a Holistic Health Practitioner and is dedicated to helping people improve their health and vitality.

Your local Healthier You programme is provided by Living Well Taking Control. The aim of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme is to help local patients improve their knowledge, ability and confidence whilst offering the support needed to make positive lifestyle choices.
