OUR PROGRAMME

We offer two options for taking part in the Healthier You NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme.

1. You can join our coach-led group programme alongside others in your local area who are also reducing their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

2. We offer an online app alternative, so you can complete the programme remotely with digital support from your local health coach.

This is a free, 9-month programme designed to significantly reduce your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and improve your health.

After recovering from binge eating, Kay decided to change her corporate career for one in public health. She has worked on the National Diabetes Prevention Programme since July 2017 and is passionate about helping people change their lifestyles for the better.

LAURA BABBAGE
Coach

Laura has worked on the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme since January 2019. She is a registered Associate Nutritionist with AFN and has completed an MSc in Human Nutrition (Public Health). She is very passionate about working with individuals with chronic conditions.

TARYN ROBERTS
Coach

Taryn is a fully qualified nutrition and health coach, afn accredited, RSPH level 4 qualified, and registered with the UKIHCA.  She is also a qualified gym trainer and has a passion for total wellbeing.  Alongside her work with LWTC, she works privately, supporting women with gut health, burnout and emotional eating.

LUCY WHINNEY
Coach

Lucie is a qualified Level 3 YMCA Yoga Instructor with a BA Hons Degree in Adventure Tourism with Management. Lucie’s fundamentals of life is keeping active, eating well and having adventures.

LISA HATHERALL
Coach

Lisa is a fully qualified Health Coach and Personal Trainer.  She holds a Level 5 Diploma in Health Coaching and Nutritional Therapy; Level 3 in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training; Level 2 in Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes; NASM Weight Loss Specialist and is a certified NEAT Fit Coach.  Alongside her work with LWTC, she works privately supporting women to lose weight and reduce their risk of developing chronic disease.

CLAIRE FOY
Coach

Claire has had a long and varied career within the health and wellness space, starting out as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor before transitioning into nursing, and then onto studying the psychology of wellbeing and behaviour change. Health and wellbeing has always been an area that she has been passionate about promoting, and over the years, she has developed a deep understanding of how important a holistic approach to health is.  

Your local Healthier You programme is provided by Living Well Taking Control. The aim of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme is to help local patients improve their knowledge, ability and confidence whilst offering the support needed to make positive lifestyle choices.
