OUR PROGRAMME

We offer two options for taking part in the Healthier You: Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Programme.

1. You can join our coach-led group programme alongside others in your local area who are also reducing their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

2. We offer an online app alternative, so you can complete the programme remotely with digital support from your local health coach.

This is a free, 9-month programme designed to significantly reduce your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and more generally improve your health.

Indie is a key member of our team. She is the cornerstone between our network of coaches, the wider community and our NHS partners, ensuring everything runs like clockwork.

Natalie lives locally in Shropshire and has over 10years experience working within the health and fitness industry. Natalie has a master's degree in Public Health Nutrition among other health and fitness qualifications. Natalie enjoys helping others to lead and happy and healthier lifestyle.

MAKHAN SINGH RAI
Coach

Makhan has a degree in sports and exercise science as well as a lot of experience working with professional athletes in helping develop their performance levels by increasing their fitness and health levels, as well as providing athletes with nutritional information to get the best out of their performances. Makhan now enjoys helping the general public get healthier.

After recovering from binge eating, Kay decided to change her corporate career for one in public health. She has worked on the National Diabetes Prevention Programme since July 2017 and is passionate about helping people change their lifestyles for the better.

Coach

Greg has a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science and has researched the impact that lifestyle habits can have on the risk of chronic diseases. He has delivered on the programme for a number of years and has a wide range of knowledge and experience in helping people to reduce the risk of diabetes.

Sandra has a masters degree in nutrition, as well as extensive experience delivering fitness classes in local communities. Her passion is helping people to lead happier and healthier lives.

ODELL SHANNON
Coach

Odell is a qualified Health Trainer with a BSc in Nutritional Therapy. She has been delivering the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme for 2.5 years with particular interest in supporting long term behaviour change for improved physical and mental health.

Your local Healthier You programme is provided by Living Well Taking Control. The aim of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme is to help local patients improve their knowledge, ability and confidence whilst offering the support needed to make positive lifestyle choices.
