Coronavirus Update: Information for Living Well Taking Control participants

Updated: Friday 3rd April 2020.

Living Well Taking Control is changing the way it delivers the Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme to protect participants and Coaches during the Coronavirus pandemic. Participants will be invited to access remote sessions delivered by their Coach via the Internet or via landline telephone from the comfort of their own home. Once Coronavirus social distancing measures have been lifted, face-to-face group sessions will be delivered in the local community as normal. Interactive and enjoyable resources will be available to all participants before remote sessions take place.

Please be reassured that we are monitoring updates and advice rigorously from the Department of Health, Public Health England (PHE)

and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The health and wellbeing of all participants and staff remains our priority.

To help reduce the spread of infection, you should:

  • wash your hands with soap and water often, for at least 20 seconds

  • use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available

  • cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze

  • put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards

  • clean objects and surfaces you touch often (like door handles, kettles and phones) using your regular cleaning products
