OUR PROGRAMME

We offer two options for taking part in the Healthier You: Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Programme.

1. You can join our coach-led group programme alongside others in your local area who are also reducing their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

2. We offer an online app alternative, so you can complete the programme remotely with digital support from your local health coach.

This is a free, 9-month programme designed to significantly reduce your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and more generally improve your health.

Hereford & Worcs GP Liaison Officer

After recovering from binge eating, Kay decided to change her corporate career for one in public health. She has worked on the National Diabetes Prevention Programme since July 2017 and is passionate about helping people change their lifestyles for the better.

Coach

Sandra has a masters degree in nutrition, as well as extensive experience delivering fitness classes in local communities. Her passion is helping people to lead happier and healthier lives.

Coach

Odell is a qualified Health Trainer with a BSc in Nutritional Therapy. She has been delivering the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme for 2.5 years with particular interest in supporting long term behaviour change for improved physical and mental health.

Coach

Sarah has a masters degree in Public Health nutrition and has many years experience of delivering health and wellbeing sessions in local communities. Her passion is helping people to improve their health and wellbeing through simple and enjoyable lifestyle changes.

Coach

Nick has been working in the health & fitness sector for over 5 years with experience in delivering fitness classes and helping people to become healthier versions of themselves. He has qualifications in tutoring, personal training, online fitness coaching and nutritional advice. Nick is a family man and understands how life can be busy and stressful, but he also understands the value and importance of a healthy lifestyle and likes to aid others in their fitness journey."

Lynne has over 30 years experience in Health, Fitness and Wellbeing and has a passion for helping people achieve an active healthy life. Having personal experience of helping someone in the family who has become a Type 2 Diabetic and having spent time as a nutritional coach she has an understanding of the barriers people face when making lifestyle changes.

Coach

Sarah is an Associate Registered Nutritionist with a BSc in Health, Nutrition and Exercise. After years of yo-yo dieting, and obsessing over what she should and shouldn't eat, she finally made peace with food and wants to help others improve their health, creating change which supports their values.

CHARLEY TURNER

Coach

Charley is an Associate Registered Nutritionist from Northamptonshire with a degree in Health, Nutrition and Exercise. She has previously worked in public health delivering healthy lifestyle sessions for both adults and children. Charley enjoys cooking and helping others to live a happy healthy lifestyle.

Coach

Makhan has a degree in sports and exercise science as well as a lot of experience working with professional athletes in helping develop their performance levels by increasing their fitness and health levels, as well as providing athletes with nutritional information to get the best out of their performances. Makhan now enjoys helping the general public get healthier.

GREG POWELL
Coach

Greg has a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science and has researched the impact that lifestyle habits can have on the risk of chronic diseases. He has delivered on the programme for a number of years and has a wide range of knowledge and experience in helping people to reduce the risk of diabetes.

Your local Healthier You programme is provided by Living Well Taking Control. The aim of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme is to help local patients improve their knowledge, ability and confidence whilst offering the support needed to make positive lifestyle choices.
