OUR PROGRAMME

We offer two options for taking part in the Healthier You: Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Programme.

1. You can join our coach-led group programme alongside others in your local area who are also reducing their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

2. We offer an online app alternative, so you can complete the programme remotely with digital support from your local health coach.

This is a free, 9-month programme designed to significantly reduce your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and more generally improve your health.

After recovering from binge eating, Kay decided to change her corporate career for one in public health. She has worked on the National Diabetes Prevention Programme since July 2017 and is passionate about helping people change their lifestyles for the better.

GREG POWELL
Coach

Greg has a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science and has researched the impact that lifestyle habits can have on the risk of chronic diseases. He has delivered on the programme for a number of years and has a wide range of knowledge and experience in helping people to reduce the risk of diabetes.

LYNNE DARBY
Coach

Lynne has over 30 years experience in Health, Fitness and Wellbeing and has a passion for helping people achieve an active healthy life. Having personal experience of helping someone in the family who has become a Type 2 Diabetic and having spent time as a nutritional coach she has an understanding of the barriers people face when making lifestyle changes.

SARAH SEATH
Coach

Sarah has a masters degree in Public Health nutrition and has many years experience of delivering health and wellbeing sessions in local communities. Her passion is helping people to improve their health and wellbeing through simple and enjoyable lifestyle changes.

LYNNE HIBERD
Coach

Lynne has spent over thirty years working in the NHS and Higher Education supporting people to live healthy, happy lives in ways that feel right for them.  Over the years this has involved a variety of clinical and advisory roles in behaviour change, advocacy, community engagement and change management. Lynne has a wide range of fitness qualifications alongside a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, and a PhD in Cultural Studies. 

Your local Healthier You programme is provided by Living Well Taking Control. The aim of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme is to help local patients improve their knowledge, ability and confidence whilst offering the support needed to make positive lifestyle choices.
