SESSION 11: IMPACT OF TYPE 2 DIABETES, REVIEW NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION

Some situations in life make it challenging for all of us to stick to a healthy lifestyle. In this session, your Locality Coach will give you some great tips on what to do when on holiday, when the family come round for dinner, and when you are at a restaurant!
 

Topics in this session include:

  • How leading a healthy lifestyle can improve your blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels
     

  • Reviewing current food choices
     

  • Menu planning 
     

  • Energy balance
     

  • Goal setting – focusing on healthy dietary choices

Different types of fat
Your Locality Coach will provide you with some really interesting information on the different types of fats and how they affect our bodies. 
For example, high-density lipids (good fats) increase when regular physical activity is undertaken.

 

Advice on difficult situations
Food choices also play a vital part in increasing our overall health. Along with your fellow participants, you will have the chance to discover how to eat healthily in settings such as family dinners or when you are busy. You will also find out how meal planning will benefit your health and make you less likely to choose unhealthy options!
